{"id":308,"date":"2011-08-18T12:46:25","date_gmt":"2011-08-18T11:46:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.squage.com\/site\/?p=308"},"modified":"2011-08-18T12:46:25","modified_gmt":"2011-08-18T11:46:25","slug":"film-soundtracks-making-office-work-exciting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.squage.com\/site\/2011\/08\/18\/film-soundtracks-making-office-work-exciting\/","title":{"rendered":"Film Soundtracks: Making Office Work Exciting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve just been listening to some of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Inception-Hans-Zimmer\/dp\/B003ODL004\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1313664177&#038;sr=8-1\">Hanz Zimmer&#8217;s superb soundtrack<\/a> to Christopher Nolan&#8217;s equally superb film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Inception-Triple-Blu-ray-Digital-Region\/dp\/B003NE4V3C\/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1313664577&#038;sr=8-2\"><i>Inception<\/i><\/a>, whilst sitting at my desk in work.<\/p>\n<p>My God.  <\/p>\n<p>Writing emails about system migrations and launch confirmations has never felt the same.<\/p>\n<p>Normally my feelings around these sorts of things would be best described either as a colour: grey, or as a sound: ppft.<\/p>\n<p>However, with particular tracks from the <i>Inception<\/i> soundtrack blasting in my ears:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>UK WAR File Deployment Change Request completion:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Normally: shrug<\/li>\n<li>When listening to <i>The Dream Is Collapsing<\/i>: a panicked, frantic mashing of keys desperately trying to explain that &#8220;everything is OK!&#8221; before the Change Request team lose all patience, fork out tens of thousands of pounds on flights and head here from America with rage in their eyes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>PVCS to AccuRev content migration:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Normally: meh<\/li>\n<li>When listening to <i>Time<\/i>: an email of such world-changing importance that every keystroke composing it has more impact than any corporate-changing strategy ever written by a top excutive.  On sending, a sense of immense pride and excitement fills one&#8217;s soul, purely to have been a part of such a historic event.  Tears are almost wept at the sheer gravity of the situation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Dev systems account password update confirmation:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Normally: tum-tee-tum&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>When listening to <i>Dream Within A Dream<\/i>: utter terror; they might be development system passwords only, but oh god \u2013 what if someone uses the old one before the email gets out?  The impact&#8230; THE IMPACT.  Hurry, Pat, HURRY!  Oh god, oh god, is everyone on this list of recipients?  What if I forget someone and&#8230; oh man, check it again, Scullion, CHECK!  If even one of those accounts get locked&#8230; tens&#8230; no&#8230; THOUSANDS may die!  <b>SOMEONE GET THE PRESIDENT, NOW!
