I can totally relate to this. I’m also always extremely apprehensive about starting something new (particularly meeting a big bunch of new people). Whenever I started a new consulting assignment, the first couple of weeks were always filled with lots of thoughts of “what if I’m not good enough to do this?” and “everyone else seems so much more confident / knowledgeable / smart than me”. But things always turned out ok.

As you suspect, this is going to be a brilliant couple of years. Just look forward to the point where you’re over that initial hump and fully immersed in it all!

I don’t know who has questioned this, but heaps of your friends, me included, can see that this really is the right move for you, and are hugely excited on your behalf. All your reasoning seems spot-on to me! :)
